The invention relates to devices for protecting the inner surface of the mill drums from wear.
A device for protection against wear of the inner surface of drum mills is known, which includes bronone plates fastened to the hull with bolts lj.
The closest technical solution to the invention is a device for protection against wear of the inner surface of the mills' drums for grinding material including magnetic particles, mainly ores, containing permanent magnetic means, means of fastening them to the inner surface of the drum and separating elements 2 .
However, the known devices have 20 small service life.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the service life by creating a protective layer on the working surface of magnetic material particles. 25
This goal is achieved by the fact that in the device for protection against wear of the inner surface of the drum of mills for grinding the material including magnetic particles, pre-. 30 properties of ore containing permanent magnetic means, means of their attachment to the inner surface of the drum and separating elements, magnetic means are made in the form of 35 bars and are located between separating elements at a distance from each other with alternating polarity. These magnetic means 40 are located stepwise at different levels in height.
The magnetic means may be embedded in the inner surface 45 of the mill drum, and may also be located across the entire surface of the mill drum and have a plate of magnetic material on the side of the surface subject to wear. 50

The mill has a drum 1 with a lining attached to its inner side. Said lining includes wear resistant rubber in the plates 2 and has protruding fastening flanges 3. The facing also contains separation elements 4 including elastomeric or rubber parts 5 with an inner recess 6 for a metal crossbar 7 with bolts 8 welded to it, which pass through the holes in the drum and interact with the washers 9 and nuts 10. T-bolts can be used instead of the bolts and crossbars mentioned. The mill facing is thus held in a position in which the protruding mounting flanges 3 of the plates of the drum 2 are pulled towards the drum 1 by means of a metal crossbar 7 located in the inner groove 6 of the elements 4. There may also be other methods of fastening the facing.
The separating elements 4 have inserts 11, to which a plurality of permanent magnets 12 are attached, the permanent magnets protrude slightly from the surfaces of the elements 4 from the apron sides when the mill rotates in the direction of arrow 13. However, sometimes this can be an advantage when the permanent magnets end directly below the elevator surfaces. The south and north poles of the permanent magnets 12 alternately rotate outwards and the permanent magnets will therefore attract the magnetic particles in the mill load, with the result that these particles are held in the form of layer 14, This. the layer serves as an automatically reducing means of protection against wear for the elements 4, since the load hits the layer and the abrasive action from the load on the lift is not as strong as the layer 14 would not be.
The magnetic particles in layer 14 may become free when the load hits the layer; 14, but new magnetic particles from the load will be pulled, with the result that the protective layer 14 remains intact also in
time of continuous rotation of the mill drum.
Parts 5 of the elements 4, drum plates and traditional lifts consist of the same wear-resistant rubber material. The mill has diameters of 5 and 9 m and. continuously at: one in rotation with secondary grinding with pieces of magnetite and quartz in the mixture (particle size not exceeding 60 mm) of so-called pebbles. Traditional lifts initially had a profile depicted by line 15, and lines 16 to 18 depict the profiles of the remains of lifts after continuous operation for 7 months, 14 months. and 21 months

During the test period, it was found that the automatically reducing wear protection layer 14 is not completely homogeneous, but includes the inner homogeneous layer itself of a very fine-grained magnetic material and the outer heterogeneous layer of larger particles of the magnetic mineral, and highly worn magnetite grinding pieces, or pebbles.
The tests thus carried out show that the invention} i, a strong improvement in the service life of the facing of the mill due to the presence. an automatically regenerating, anti-wear layer 14 of magnetic fine-grained material containing: the load.
The ability to use the invention to protect
mill drum from wear (Fig. 2). In this case, the mill is designed as a primary mill, i.e., a mill for grinding a coarse raw material. The facing of the mill is wavy, i.e. the plates of the drum 20 are formed in the form of steps having a low part 21 and a high part 22, which is lower than the upper side of the elements 4. The fixing of the elements and plates is made as in FIG. 1. However, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, not only the elements 4, but also the plates 20 have metal inserts 11 and permanent magnets 12 attached to them. As a result, permanent magnets located at gradually increasing levels form a slightly inclined surface profile with a protective layer 14 of magnetic particles, which are drawn by permanent magnets (Fig. 1). In this case, it can also be found that the protective layer 14 has a multilayer composition that includes the inner fine-grained and outer coarse-grained layers. Layer 14, when tested in a mill having a diameter of 2.9 m, is about 5 cm thick and contains some worn grinding balls. Layer 14 forms a continuous pseudo-fluid layer providing an effective shield against abrasion of the cladding.
FIG. 3 shows a variant of the device in which the magnetic means have a plate 23 of magnetic material on the side of the surface subject to wear.
The proposed device allows to increase its service life by creating a protective layer on the working surface of magnetic material particles.
